quotes from the review of the latest CD in SING OUT (USA):
"This unique, bass-Iess project is his best to date. Accompanied
solely by the solid, deeply rhythmic drum and percussion work of John
Gerritse as weil as Jan Mittendorp's big-toned guitar playing, Davis
delivers spirited, rough-edged vocals ……..Modern-day Mississippi blues
at its finest."

quote form the review of Doug's DVD in DIRTY LINEN (USA):
"Doug MacLeod has been more privileged than most bluesmen in the sense
that he has been lucky enough to learn his trade alongside some of the
best, including Charles Brown, Big Joe Turner, Eddie "Cleanhead"
Vinson, and Pee Wee Crayton. That kind of groundwork has undoubtedly
contributed to making MacLeod such a convincing artist whose body of
work deserves attention."
